On July 17th, the Power Management Division of the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) organized a special industry exchange at Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Zhiguang Electric), bringing together representatives from power utilities, industry associations, and leading companies in the ultra-fast charging field to discuss Solid-State Transformer (SST) applications.
The meeting focused on the deployment of SST technology in high-power ultra-fast EV charging and integrated solar-storage charging (PV-BESS-charging) systems. Participants also toured Zhiguang Electric’s Coota Solid-State Transformer prototype. The event produced significant progress in industry collaboration and business matchmaking.

The exchange was a part of Guangzhou MIIT’s initiative to strengthen the industrial supply chain for next-generation power systems and new energy vehicle charging infrastructure. By bringing together stakeholders from across the industry3, the event created a platform to connect technology developers, equipment suppliers, utilities, charging operators, and end users. Together, they represented the entire SST value chain.
Participating organizations include representatives from Power Management Division of the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau, PetroChina Guangzhou Branch, CNOOC Guangdong Sales Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Development New Energy Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Southern Power Group Technology Development Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Xinzhili Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Jiediantong Integrated Energy Co., Ltd., Beijing Chehejia Energy Service Co., Ltd. (Li Auto), Guangzhou Electric Vehicle Charging and Swapping Industry Association, as well as charging operators, energy investment enterprises, and vehicle manufacturers such as TELD and Star Charge. Together, these participants represented the full value chain, spanning grid infrastructure, charging station operations, and vehicle charging services.

During the exchange session, Zhiguang Electric gave a special presentation to visiting representatives on the core advantages, technical roadmap, and complete solution for supercharging and integrated solar-storage-charging solution for its self-developed Coota solid-state transformer. The company highlighted the product’s advantages in enabling flexible grid interconnection, improving ultra-fast charging efficiency, and supporting the deep integration of renewable generation and energy storage infrastructure.

Industry participants discussed equipment specifications, deployment scenarios, commercialization models, and opportunities for new demonstration projects. Attendees also made a field visit to the prototype of the solid-state transformer and praised its compact design, high conversion efficiency, and flexible multi-port architecture.

The workshop helped identify practical application scenarios for SST technology, generated multiple business opportunities, laid a strong foundation for the commercialization and industrialization of Zhiguang Electric’s Solid-State Transformer.
As one of China’s key energy-efficient power technologies, Solid-State Transformers are increasingly recognized as the core “energy routers” of next-generation power systems and high-power EV charging infrastructure. This exchange is expected to accelerate the commercial deployment of SSTs within Guangzhou’s ultra-fast charging network while further reinforcing Zhiguang Electric’s leadership in advanced power system equipment.
As a leading Guangzhou-based company specializing in power electronics and comprehensive energy, Zhiguang Electric will continue to leverage the technological first-mover advantages of the Coota solid-state transformer. While being supported by Guangzhou’s industrial development policies, the company plans to collaborate with industry partners to build flagship demonstration projects and accelerate the large-scale deployment of SSTs in ultra-fast EV charging and integrated solar-storage charging applications. Zhiguang works to contribute to Guangzhou’s vision of becoming a “Supercharging Capital” while advancing the development of the green energy industry.
